HI Venkat,

Using Version Management you can track all the changes u make to your original code by creating Transport Request for each of your changes. You can even Rollback to your Previous Version of code if you want also you can compare the Older version with your New version.

You can find the version management option in your Menu bar as follows.

Utilities -> Version Management

U can go there for further Detaisl

Hi,

at a very basic level Version management is for creating different versions for the object.

Version management serves different purposes and user groups:

1. The developer can keep track of his or her work ("What have I changed?")

2. The developer can restore a previous version by reactivating it.

3. The system administrator can monitor work ("Which objects were changed and how in a

specific time interval?")

4. It provides a basis for any auditor who requires a complete history of changes.

5. It enables customers to use the system to adjust data after they have upgraded to a new release.

Hi Vekat,

Version management tells you present version of your report.

if you changed your report after releasing the present request then a new request will generate and this shows the current version of your report.

to view the versions,just open your report in SE38 and goto

Utilities --> * Versions --> Version Management

It will show all the versions of the report as the current verison at the top.

Object Navigator (SE80)

Transport Organizer (SE09)

Suppose for a particular Program..

You have made changes no of times for meeting the user reqmt..Let us say 5 times..

But later User says that the third Version was better...

and he needs Third Version of the Program..

With the version Manamgement you can retreive the Third Version in Dev sys and then tfr the same third ver to Q & th P..
