1.) how to create the search help for a fields for particular table. what is its purpose? where does it use?

U CAN CREATE SEARCH HELP TO PROVIDE HELP FOR USER WHEN IT PRESS F4 ON FIELD.

FOR CREATING FIELD OF TABLE U HAVE TO CREATE DATA ELEMENT .

WHILE CREATING DATA ELEMENT THERE IS AN OPTION IN APPLICATION TOOLBAR AS "DOCUMENTATION" .

JUST CLICK THAT OPTION THEN U WILL GET ONE WINDOW HAVING FOUR FIELD AS

&DEFINITION&

&USE&

&DEPENDENCIES&

&EXAMPLE&

JUST WRITE WHATEVER INFORMATION THAT U WANT TO DISPLAY UNDER THIS HEADING AS A F1 HELP .

WHENEVER U PRESS F1 ON FIELD IT WILL PROVIDE U SEARCH HELP .

ok sir , i didn't ask about f4 help. f4 help is used for validate the data that present in the reference table or check table .if data exists in the check table it should not display the message else it displays the message as" data does not exist".

i am asking the search help by using the key f1.

i told about checked table . while u enter the data in the foreign key table . we can enter only valid data. if we dont know the valid data we press the key f4 on the particular field . after that they show the valid data.

Hi,

We go for search/help when we need to refer the fields of a particular table to another table.

To create search help,

1. In SE11,enter a name for Search/help.

2.Then enter the table name for which 'search/help' is to be created in the "Selection method" field

3.In 'Dialog Type' choose "Display Values immediately"

4.In 'Search Help Parameter' enter the required fieldnames of the table(can choose field names by clicking search icon).

5.Enable import,export.

6.mark LPOS as 1 and SPOS as 0

7.Save,check and activate.

8.In SE11,in tables object enter the second table name to which the above created search help is to be assigned.

9.Place the cursor in a particular field and click 'Search help' icon and it will ask the search help name(enter the created search help name)

10.Now the search help for that field is created.So when you create entries for this table search icon would have been enabled for the assigned field.
