Doubt in Extended Syntax check

Hi all ,

I am facing a problem when i do a Extended Syntax check for a program . The message i am getting is as follows :

Messages for CALL FUNCTION interfaces(Todo Prio3)

Program: SAPLZC_BWSPI Include: LZC_BWSPIF01 Row: 496 [Prio 3]

No EXCEPTION to set SY_SUBRC Declared for CALL FUNCTION 'FIRST_DAY_IN_TP_GET'

Thus the value of SY-SUBRC is always 0

(The message can be hidden with "#EC *)

can anyone suggest me how to correct it .

Fm 'FIRST_DAY_IN_TP_GET' does not raise any exception.

So there is no need to check sy-subrc after calling this FM.

If you have done it u need to remove it.

Else just add "#EC * at the end of the CALL FUNCTION statement

Hi,

suppose you have a report that uses some subroutines and function modules.now the function modules and subroutines are working fine.If in future while calling a function module there is a chance that it will raise error due to upgradation or some thing else.

go to SLIN transactiona and select all the check boxes there and go to execute.you will get message,code ...etc as output.select code, now the cursor will stand at one place in your program.so that is the point where you will get error in future.press enter there and code as set extended check on.

and subsequently code as set extended check off.

Hi,

You have to add "# EC PORTABLE using inline comment where you get that particular error. Using this comment it is going to hide the error. But functionality won't change. I used many times in my program.But in hide errors we can display them.

JUST WRITE

CALL FUNCTION XYZ "#EC *

IMPORTING -

EXPORTING----

IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.

ENDIF.

THATS ENOUGH.

OR ELSE TRY.

CALL FUNCTION XYZ

IMPORTING -

EXPORTING----

IF SY-SUBRC <> 0. "#EC *

ENDIF.

when u call the function 'FIRST_DAY_IN_TP_GET'

u willl get some exceptions if u comment them then u will get the error in Extended Syntax check...bcoz sy-subrc value will always be 0.
