Hi

I am getting the following message on running a batch job

____________________________________________________

Job started

Step 001 started (program /SAPAPO/TS_BATCH_RUN, variant ZDPFCST, user ID BATCHUSER)

Docking container could not be created

ABAP/4 processor: OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED

Job cancelled

____________________________________________________

There is no batch job running parallely or any user logged on to cause any conflict.

This batch job runs a very simple macro in background in SAP APO system. This error occurs very sporadically and many a times a simple rerun never gives this error. However this error has started showing on a more frequent basis, and we need to understand the underlying causes for this.

Does anyone have any ideas on what this error is all about ? We are running all standard programs

Not sure if ST22 will make much sense but here it is.

____________________________________________________

What you can do? What happened?

    Error in ABAP application program.

The current ABAP program "/SAPAPO/SAPMMSDP" had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed. This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.

____________________________________________________

Error analysis

An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below

. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was

     neither

caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "HEADER_ON"

     "(FORM)"

    .

Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception

to occur, the running program was terminated.

The reason for the exception is:

Attempt to access a component using 'NULL' object reference (points

    to nothing).

An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)

before you can use it to access components (variable: "GP_REF_HEAD_DOCK_CONT").

Either the reference has not yet been set, or it has been reset to

    'NULL' by a CLEAR statement.

____________________________________________________

Hi SK,

I also had this problem. I overcome by putting a check on objects being created. In batch mode GUI objects cannot be created.

Check sy-binpt is initial.

create object dock_container ....

I hope this helps.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Dinesh.
