removing/deleting ossnotes from snote transaction

Hi All,

can any one suggest me to delete, completely remove a 'not implemented ' note from snote transaction [ new] . I hav already tried the 'Reset implementation ' option.

Also can any one tell me is there any request no for this not implemented oss note' . If yes, how to see it. I cannot see it in seo9/se10.

Hi,

It is not possible to delete the notes once you have downloaded irrespective of whether you have implemented or not implemented. The only thing you can do is you can revert the changes of the note.

Hello,

1. I assume you want to remove a note which is downloaded but not implemented. Actually this is not possible and not necessary. When a note is downloaded, only the note information like dependency, validity, etc. was downloaded to some system tables. The changes in the note are NOT implemented in the system. If you think the note is not useful, you can simply set it to 'not relevant'. Once again, the changes in the note are not in the system at all.

2. When you download a note, all the changes in the system table (CWB* tables) are all local. This means there's no transport request generated for downloading note. A TR is generated only when you implement the note.

You can set the processing status to "not relevant" <ctl F3>. That will eliminate it from the list.

Hi,

thanks for the reply. But I have one more question.

In another situation, I had to insert the given code in the oss note . The program name where this note is to be applied was there. Now there arises my question.

About a month ago, when a friend of mine was working on a similar prosess, SAP did not ask for access key when he wanted to modify the standard program with the code in the OSS note.

How ever when I tried the same in my case, SAP did ask for access key !

I would like to know, is there any such feature for standard programs,which has the provision to incorporate OSS note codes , wont ask for access key, when inserting codes , or I was wrong in the way of inserting the code, or it is a must that inserting codes in standard codes will definitely require access key.

Hello Arnab,

I assume that you're talking about manual changes in OSS note.

Actually the R/3 doesn't know if a manual change is required from an OSS note or just customization. Generally, if you make manual changes on SAP standard programs, you will be asked for the access code.

Let's say the system is set to 'object' access code required. If you friend has made changes on this object before, and he/she has logged in with the same user, when the same objects is being updated again, no access code is needed. But if you made the change for the first time on the object, an access code is needed.

There's another situation. If the system is set to certain security level, the access code might not be needed. But I'm not an expert in that area and I don't know how to set it.
