Hi,

As far as I know you can't. You can debug background processes such as the update proces, by activating the update debugger.

If you want to test screen validations, you can overwrite sy-batch, which is flagged in background processing.

you have to play with Evil, make a wait .. go in SM50 select the process, and ask for debugging (in the menu)

Goto SM50 .. select your program

Program/Mode --> Program --> Debugging ..

u can debug the program put /h after selection screen and execute the program ]

and change systum variable sy-batch = space in debugging mode and do the debugging

Hi,

Have you ever been in a situation where you want to debug a program but the darn thing runs in background? Here is a tip that will solve all your background debugging problems. There's only one condition: You have to be able to edit the coding. Enter an endless loop at the point you want to start debugging and start the program. Go to SM50. Wait till your process will seem to be "hanging". In the menu goto Program -> debugging. You will get into your program at the code you just entered. Change variable w_flag = 'X'. Continue debugging.

loop at itab.

move ' ' to itab.

append itab.

endloop.

this is be an endless loop.

this loop will never be executed bcoz 1 will never be equal to 2..

IF 1 = 2 is used for message handling in the maintenance.

Hi,

Create a background job and specify the program to be executed in background.

We can debug the job. in Sm37 choose the job, type JDBG in command window and the debugging mode will be switched on. It will take you to the report program.

Once you go to SM50 and select debugging,it will stop at the above piece of code.To exit the endless loop set the variable var to 'X' during the iteration and then continue with your debugging.

Hi,

In sm37 select the program and give JDBGit will take to debug mode or in SM50 you can see the all programs list running inn background, here u can change the mode to debugging(menu--> options)
