User change for BDC

Hi,

Can we change the user while execution of BDC in the background.

I have a required to create BDC for material master with BASIC data1 Basic data2 MRP1 MRP3 ACCOUNTING 1 Account 2 Costing 1 and 2.

The user who are authorize to create material master dont have authorization of Accounting and costing view. Can we run the BDC with other user name and after completion of BDC again change the user name to original.

No you can not do that. That is a classic security issue. Say in your program you change SY-UNAME, the very next statement will set it back to what it should be. The system will not allow you to do this. You would have to either give authorization to the users, or just allow them to create the BDC session, then some other user will have to run the session.

Hi,

I think this can be done using jobs.

Goto SM36 and create a job. Now define a step and give the BDC program in that. Here you can assign a user for the step. Give the user who is having authorisation.
