Hi,

What is the difference between the material class and the batch class?

Hi,

Material class is having material related attributes and filled during master data creation and also during SO creation, in case of variant configurations.

Batch class is related to production and keeps the attributes which are normally after production

The function module or the table which gives details of class, class type with the help of material, batch and plant as input are as below:

CLMA_CLASS_READ Return Class, Class Type, and Description

CLOB_SELECT_TABLE_FOR_CLASSTYP Classification: All Objects for Class Type

CLUS_CHARACT_USAGE_IN_CLASS Use of Characteristics per Class Type

CLCA_DETAIL_CLASSTYPE Classification: Class Type Detail

CLCA_DETAIL_CLASSTYPE_TCLA Classification: Class Type Detail (Display TCLA)

CLCA_GET_CLASSTYPES_FROM_TABLE Classification: All Class Types for Object

CLCA_PROCESS_CLASSTYPE Classification: Check Existence of Class Type or List of Class Types

CLCA_SAVE_CLASSTYPE_TABLE Classification: Save Settings for Class Type/Table.
