If you set a request as standard request .

Any changes you make to any object will be recorded in this request . Normally when you change / create an object system prompts you ( through a POPUP ) to give a request number ( or create one if no modifiable request exists in your name ) . This popup will not appear when you set a request to standard. This normally not desired as you may be working on a lot of objects at a time and would like to keep the changes in separate requests .

Cheers.
