Update batch for BOM material in delivery using FM.

Hi,

I need to change Batch Number in delivery for the componet in BOM material.

I am using FM LE_MOB_DELIVERY_UPDATE to change batch number in Delivery. This works fine for all the materials except components of BOM.

Any pointers on this???

Hi Vaibhav,

The batch of the component ( which is from BOM) is a batch already consumed from the available stock.

So what ever the methpd you follow to change a batch of a component after production ( while delivery) system wont allow this change.

Please get back with you exact functional requirement.

Hi Mahesh,

I have an outbound delivery with material A which has Sales BOM with item/Component as B. Thus my delivery shows two line items viz: A & B. 'A' is not relevant for picking but item 'B' can be picked. But before picking item B I want to change its batch. Transaction VL02n allows me to change the batch, do picking and pgi for the same. But I am not able to change the batch for this compoment.

Hi Vaibhav,

I could not understand your functional requirement exactly.. But from ur statement...

Component B is in your stock ( which is managed in batched).. & you want to pick them..& while picking you want to change the batch number... But while picking you can pick a batch which already exists in the stock for the component.. You cant just give a new name to the component batch.

If u mean that you need to select a Batch for picking according to some logic like first in first out... You may consult your functional consultant for using the batch determination procedure.

Hi Mahesh,

Let me put it this way.

(product B in one country is sold as product A in another. In delivery it is shown as A is main product with B as its component)

I have a delivery with two line items: A & B.

A is the main item while B is the component.

I receive an Idoc with data related to picking of B. This idoc also had batch number which is different from the one in delivery. Now i want to change the batch in delivery with the batch number i receive in idoc.

In sap we can not do picking and delivery change in the same idoc. It has be a two step process: step 1: change delivery and step 2: picking. Thus before calling standard FM IDOC_INPUT_DELVRY I am calling FM LE_MOB_DELIVERY_UPDATE to change the batch number.

This works fine with the normal materials, but with BOM components i am not getting the expected results.
