    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Sandeep,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Usually paramater id is used to default values of a screen field.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Paramater ID : A field can be filled with proposed values from SAP memory using a parameter ID.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Example&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;A user only has authorization for company code 001. This company code is stored in memory at the beginning of a transaction under the corresponding parameter ID of the data element. "material number&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;SET PARAMETER ID 'WRK' FIELD p_werks.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;SET PARAMETER makes use of  theSAP memory.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We can set values for a particular field globally.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;e.g: SET PARAMETER 'paramid' field &amp;lt;field name&amp;gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;'paramid' can be used in any ABAP program using the &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;syntax GET PARAMETER 'paramid' field &amp;lt;field name&amp;gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To set Paramter ID for a Data Element, edit "Further Characteristics" where you will get an input field for Parameter ID. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Go via SE11 -&amp;gt; Data Element Name -&amp;gt; Display -&amp;gt; Further Characteristics&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Reward if helpful.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Edited by: prosenjit chaudhuri on Jan 24, 2008 11:16 AM&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
