      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;As many have said so far, chose System -&amp;gt; Status on any screen and look at the frame titled 'SAP system data'.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;What you do next will vary depending on how recent the system is.  If I look at an ECC 6.0 system, the 'Component version' field says 'SAP ECC 6.0'.  Job done.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For an earlier release it may say 'SAP R/3 Enterprise' or similar, here you have to click on the button under the field and read the release from the component list to find the SAP_APPL component.
