Thankyou Nivin.

As I said we are able to list all the archiving objects for a table.Say for eg DB15 lists 5 archiving objects. I guess, using all the 5 archiving objects does not impact the table in the same way. Some may have little impact. So archiving using all these may not give the desirable space gain. Only one or two among 5 may be useful in terms of time and effort /resource. My doubt is how to find that suitable archiving object. I am assuming that fair idea of business process will help in tracing. Pls correct me if am wrong.

Where can I find 'Data archiving and optimization' related stuff?

Help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Priya.

Hi,

We are in the initial phase of archiving project. We have targeted our top 30 tables .

1. In db15 if we give table name,it lists out all the relevant archiving objects. My question is how to find suitable archiving object beneficial with regards to space gain to that particular table.ie. 'which archiving object will be suitable for that table'.

2. After finding the archiving objects, we are using network graphics to trace the dependencies. I Would like to know other ways to find the interdependencies among the objects.

We are going thro all the relevant SAP notes. Would appreciate if anybody can share valuable inputs.

Thanks,

Priya.

Hi Priya,

For your question about AO selection for implementation, our experience on both functional and technical will help.

Hints: 1.You can recongnise AO with their description.

2. From SAP Library you can get AO for perticular tables. Link http://help.sap.com/

3. When we run a test case job then in the spool list we can find tables and there entries through this one can know main table of the perticular archiving object.

Reward if it is benifit

-Thanks,

Ajay

Edited by: Ajay Kumar on Jan 21, 2008 5:46 AM

Hi Priya,

Network graphic and AOBJ transcation gives the dependencies of Archiving Objects.

We prefer Network graphic screen to see dependencies. Reason is dependency of dependencies will be not give in AOBJ transaction.

-Thanks,

Ajay
