If you are looking to the long term I would go WebDynpro. Start now by learning WebDynpro Java and then pickup WebDynpro ABAP as soon as it is available if you want the maximum flexibility.

Hi Thomas,

If we want to use java for iview programming we use JAVA PDK.

But what is Java webdynpro? Is it different from Java PDK ?

If I am learning Java Webdynpro what is the need of learning ABAP Dynpro after that or rather why not go for ABAP Webdynpro straight away since I have worked in abap ?

I would suggest taking the time to learning it all. It can't hurt to know a little about a lot. For example, I don't think that we at my company will ever actually use a BSP in a productive environment since we already have implemented using java and webdynpro, but I'm taking the day today to learn about BSP and how it works.

By learning WebDynpro for Java, this will help you learn WebDypro for ABAP much faster. If you know the MVC model in java it will help you understand webdynpro in ABAP.

Regards,

Rich Heilman
