Hi Experts,

Cany any one please tell me the following Questions which i have faced in the last interview:

1) How to create the tcode for particular table ( Standard SAP table or Z table )

2) How many maximum number of fields can we create in the single table in the DDIC?

3) How many maximum include structure and append structure can we use in the table

in DDIC ?

Hi Sivasamy,

1) How to create the tcode for particular table ( Standard SAP table or Z table )

check this link

Go to SE93 -> Create

Choose transaction with Parameter

Transaction : SM30

Skip first screen : checked

At the end : default Values

Name of the screen Field Value

VIEWNAME <Table name>

UPDATE X

This one also has details of how to create tcode for table maintenance

2) How many maximum number of fields can we create in the single table in the DDIC?

number of colums with key is - 1024

number of columns without key is 1023..

3) How many maximum include structure and append structure can we use in the table in DDIC ?

INCLUDE:

Includes are used to group fields and insert them together in a table or structure.

An include program has two main functions:

It contains code which can be used by several different programs.

It helps you to modularize programs, which consist of many different logically related parts. Each of these parts is stored as a separate include program.

Include programs improve the readability of programs and make maintenance easier.

Include reports contain rolled out parts of reports. They are called by the main report, and can only be run in conjunction with the main report.

APPEND:

Append structures are used for enhancements that are not included in the standard. This includes special developments, country versions and adding customer fields to any tables or structures.

An append structure is a structure that is assigned to exactly one table or structure. There can be more than one append structure for a table or structure.

The following enhancements can be made to a table or structure TAB with an append structure:

Insert new fields in TAB,

Define foreign keys for fields of TAB that already exist,

Attach search helps to fields of TAB that already exist

1) How to create the tcode for particular table ( Standard SAP table or Z table )

1. You need generate the table maintenance using the Menu Utilities->Table maintenance generator

2. Give the authorization group, package, function group, overview screen number etc.

3. Create the table maintenance

4. Now go to se93

5. Give custom tcode and say create then enter description , and then choose the radio button Transaction with parameters

6. Now enter tcode as SM30 and check the check box skip intial screen

7. Check all gui support buttons

8. Now go down and enter VIEWNAME from F4 help and value as table name

9. and add UPDATE(choose it from F4) and value as 'X'.

Now execute your tcode and you will see the table maintenance screeen for your ztable

2) How many maximum number of fields can we create in the single table in the DDIC?

A maximum of 16 key fields per table is permitted. The maximum length of the table key is 255.

If the key length is greater than 120, there are restrictions when transporting table entries. The key can only be specified up to a maximum of 120 places in a transport. If the key is larger than 120, table entries must be transported generically.

A table may not have more than 249 fields. The sum of all field lengths is limited to 1962 (whereby fields with data type LRAW and LCHR are not counted).

Fields of types LRAW or LCHR must be at the end of the table. Only one such field is allowed per table. There must also be a field of type INT2 directly in front of such a field. The actual length of the field can be entered there by the database interface.
