Default users to Communication

Hi,

When we create users, we would like the USER TYPE field on the Logon Data tab to be defaulted to <b>'Communication'</b>. currently it gets defaulted to <b>Dialog</b>. 90% of our users are Communication. Is there a way to default this field to Communication instead of Dialog.

Hi,

Though tried didnt find a way to set the default user as Communication.

How ever there ia way round.

Create the users normally . So the User type is dialog as it is the default setup.

Then try a LSMW to change the User type of the concerned users to Communication or as per your requirement.

Hope this will help as we followed the same in filling the Department field of the users.

Hello Amandeep,

There are some exits for SU01, but whether they will be able change the default I am not sure. Did you check them?

90% of how many in total? It might be easier to just click for 10 minutes and get it over with, than write a program.

There are many threads, SAP notes & guides which recommend using type System users, instead of Communication.
