Get Physical file path from logical file path.

hello, is there any way to get the physical file path <b>only</b> from the logical file path?

ive check 'FILE_GET_NAME' but it returns the physical file name using the logical file name.

i need to get the path only using the logical file path definition.

ive found out that you could select an entry from DB table 'PATH' and get the physical path definition, but it containts place holders such as <FILE_NAME> , <SYS-ID>, and <=INTER_SVR>.

maybe the alternate way is to somehow convert the dynamic file name to a real file name?

this function group has 4 functions, two of them come up with error operating system not found (although its the default one) and also they dont do what i want according to the description (Something like "get<b> logical path</b> and file name)

Test FILE_GET_NAME_AND_LOGICAL_PATH

FILE_GET_NAME_USING_PATH

in combination using some existing entry and see if its of any use.

ive already tried that, and it doesnt seem to be of any help to me.

Try to acces the table PATH

SELECT SINGLE * FROM path WHERE pathintern = YOUR_LOGICAL_PATH

AND filesys = 'WINDOWS NT'.

Sorry the complete code is:

We have to delete the string <FILENAME> to get the path

SELECT SINGLE * FROM path WHERE pathintern = p_p_login1

AND filesys = 'WINDOWS NT'.

IF sy-subrc = 0.

p_w_login1 = path-pathextern.

long = STRLEN( p_w_login1 ).

w_bor = long - 10.

p_w_login1 = p_w_login1(w_bor)..

ENDIF.
