Range numbers

Now I know that this is not an ABAP question as such, but then there's no WM forum in which to post this. I have just been asked if I can identify why the range numbers assigned to the SAP Wave process is jumping all over the place. For example, out of a min/max range of 100000 - 100999 we may have ranges used on day one from 100001 - 100020, on the second day it may be 100800 - 100820 and then on the third day it could be 100021 - 100040. So, there seems to be a massive jump for some reason, then it utilises the numbers left in the gap.

Has anyone ever seen this happen before and know why. I would have thought that this is general number range problem.

Dr Sidewalk

Hi

At a guess...

Your number range probably has buffering turned on for 20 numbers, and you have more than one app server.

Each app server has 20 numbers buffered on it. Your WM application is connecting to a particular app server on a day and getting the numbers from that one.

Or, I could be completely wrong...

cheers

Dom

Hi,

The number ranges buffering is maintained via transaction SNRO. You should enter(choose) at the selection screen the specific number range and then the specifications of it will be displayed. You can change the default settings to the preferred ones. Each time when the application server is stopped the buffred range is lost. If the buffering is smaller then the jump in the numbers will be smaller too.

Svetlin.
