The data disappeared

Hi all,

I have designed a screen that has 4 text area(input/output field in abap) in it.

When I have entered a value into this area and hit the enter key, the value is disappeared.

What could be the problem?

I think you are using your own field in the screen(not refering from database field) so this is happening.

If it is the case then just declare the same field in abap program.

suppose in screen layout you have given the name TEXT for input field... then in abap declare

data : text(10).

like that the same name.

It may work

The situation is like what you understood.

However the text areas have also been declared at program side.

When I have hit the enter key, all data disappeared.

What can be done?

Just check in the screen layout the property(attribute window) of that field (program tab) whether

input field

and output field

both are checked or not. You have to make both the things checked.

Hi Deniz,

i think in the PBO of your screen you must be clearing the values / initialising them. so when u fill in values in the text area and hit enter, PBO is triggered again and the values are cleared/initialised.

hi,

what are the fields u used in screen should be declared in flow logic or in ur program.

if it a module program try like this.

in flow logic u declare all those input/output fields as

ASB1 type SCRFNAME value 'SURESH'. /// where ASB1 is the name which u give in screen for i/o field.

Shiba I have done what you have said but it did not work.It is both input and output field.

another one thing you can do in addition to that.

in your PBO just write the code like

text = text.

assume text is the input field in screen name and the variable name.
