Hi,

Data migration means uploading data to sap system.You can upload data for many transactions in the module mm,sd fico etc.

Data migration is uploading data from legacy system to SAP system.

Can upload using Migration tools like LSMW, BDC etc.

General Account master comes under FI module.

<b>What is Data migration?</b>

In an SAP R/3 implementation the data from legacy system (non SAP R/3) needs to be transferred to the SAP system

Periodic data transfer between R/3 and other system (interfacing) is also required

Both of the above form a part of data migration

<b>Significance of data migration</b>

Data migration comes in the end of R/3I mplementation.

To start with Data Migration first configuration should be fully completed

Data migration is about 20% to 40% oft he total implementation expenses.

What exactly is done in a implementaton where do report creation smart forms sap script

lsmw bdc alv stand in that and why one is prefered over the other...tell me in reference to mm of sd.......also tell me a role of a abaper from the point he recieves tech spec till he submits
