System will allocate 8kb memory default, Even though you use it or not.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;it is the standard declaration of the internal table  with initial size &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;using DATA statement&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;write the same line in SE38 and press F1 on each field and see&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;it will be clear&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Anji&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;In the statement,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It_EKKO is the internal table name.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;T_EKKO is the type name.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;U have to use UNDERSCORE[ _ ] in IT_EKKO and not HYPHEN [ -].&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;IT_EKKO is a standard internal table.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
