Inserting text box in infotype

Hi,

I'm trying to insert a text box in infotype so that any text can be entered in the infotype screen itself instead of going to menu and selecting maintain text.

Anyone worked on this? Please let me know the solution.

Hi Rajeev,

You can add easily a text box to the infotype. Please confirm whether it is a standard infotype or user defined infotype (9001 etc ..). I'll give you the solution accordingly.

You can check the FMs <b>"RH_EDITOR_SET"</b> and <b>"RH_EDITOR_GET"</b>.

Hi Rajeev,

1) Goto Transaction PM01.

2) Enter the Infotype no (9001 etc.)

3) Check the PS Structure radio button and Click on create.

4) Add the new field in the structure & save.

5) Now check the screen radio button and enter the screen no (2000 etc)

6) click on edit and go to the layout in screen painter.

7) Add the text field and activate the screen.

😎 In the PM01 screen again, click on ALL button next to Infotype field and click yes in all the messages you get.

BINGO !!! You'll see the new field appearing in the Infotype next time you go to PA30/PA20 etc.

Hi Sam,

I need a text box which can hold some 10 lines of text.

For example, goto infotype 0006(addresses) and in the menu goto edit-maintain text, you get a screen similar to MS word where you can type text lines.

I'm trying to create a box in the infotype screen itself, so that the text can be entered there without going to menu and selecting maintain text option.

Pls give me some inputs about this.

Hi Rajeev,

In that case, you'll need to place a custom container in the Infotype screen.

tips:-

custom_container TYPE REF TO cl_gui_custom_container,

editor TYPE REF TO cl_gui_textedit,

And also you'll need to code for the data to be stored in the tables by some events.

Thank for the right solution!

Now if I use this text editor in the infotype screen, how do I save the entries. Should the texts be transfered to cluster??

I guess i have to use the FM's RH_EDITOR_SET and RH_EDITOR_GET to import/export the text to cluster as suggested by Serdar.
