Hi,

Please let me know what is the use of export parameter I_SPECIAL_CHARS in function module to format serial nos- PROCESS_SERIALS_FOR_PRINT

Hi Sreejit,

I_SPECIAL_CHARS is an import parameter in the FM PROCESS_SERIALS_FOR_PRINT which means these are some of the special indications which are constant and hence the default value as a hyphen.

thanks for reply,

my problem is it is giving error IO415 when we give serial number with '/' in between. I m using default value for this parameter.

is there any connection with that.. what exactly is the use of the special character.

why IoO 415 message is thrown from this FM?

please let me know if any clue.

I face the similar issue. I get an error IO415 while processing function module PROCESS_SERIALS_FOR_PRINT with parameter I_SPECIAL_CHAR to hyphen. Your question is answered. Kindly let me know how did you rectify this issue.
