Are you checking the Flag Material for Deletion Flags (MARA-lvorm NE 'X" and MARC-lvorm NE 'X") as well? Also, are you checking the Plant Location of the BOM and Material Masters, are they maintained at several Plant Locations with differenet statuses (werks)? Hope this give you some insight.

I see a lot of BOM explosion questions listed and a lot of question about the calculated DATUB field. I haven't seen an answer that I can use though.

I don't care about the DATUB field. I just want to know if the component I'm pulling into my SQVI is still valid or not. Is there a simple way to do this?

I'm currently using: MARC-MMSTA (material status per plant)

                             MARA-MSTAE (X-plant material status)

to get rid of all the obs parts.

I'm still getting material that has changes to it though the status is still good. I need to get rid of the non-valid parts (the same as CS11 does it)

Thanks!

/ww

I don't even care about the validity date. I just want the data to be correct. When I look at CS11, I have 3 items on my top level. When I download from those tables, I have 23 items on my top level.

How do I get rid of the items that are in QU status but have been moved off of this BOM a year (etc.) ago?

When I query on a piece of equipment that is old and has changed a lot, I'll get hundreds of hits for the top level bom. This screw is no longer used on this but it is still used on that.. type stuff.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

w^2

Thanks for the suggestion.

The BOM I'm looking at as a test subject had 17 components in 2004. Since 2004, 14 of those components have been moved into another BOM as a sub-assembly. If I use CS03 with a validity date of today, I get 3 components on the BOM. If I use a SQVI with MAST, STPO, MARC, and MAKT then I get the original 17 components. There's nothing wrong with the components except that they are now in a sub-assembly.

Yes we do have multiple plants. I include those in my query as well.

How do I draw the 3 components only using SQVI/SQ00 ??

Thanks!

Are you also Checking the Deletion indicator and Valid From Date in STPO (lkenz and datuv)? You metnioned you use CS03 with a Validity date to get the Valid Data, but you do not care about the DATUV field in your query.

There's nothing wrong with the component (in other words.. no deletion indicator, is qualified, is in the plants it's supposed to be in, etc.) The problem is that the component is defined as existing in 2 BOMs, one is correct, the other isn't. The only thing that seems to set them apart is the DATUB field (valid-to field). This is a calculated field that doesn't seem to be able to be queried.

This is the reason I said I don't care about the field. I don't. I only want to know if the component is valid in the BOM or not. If someone knows some way to tell this besides with this field, I'm want it. I don't need the date for my purposes. I only care if it's valid or not..

I hope this clears up my request a bit.

Thanks!
