So you can not use GUI_UPLOAD or any other excel file upload function module used to upload file from presentation server.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If the file is placed on Application server, you can use OPEN DATASET command and read the file.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have an Excel file created outside of SAP that needs to be read as input in a batch job (not in the SAPGUI), an Excel file.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is it possible for an ABAP prograrm to read as input an Excel File?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
