    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;when we for EDI then only third party tool comes into picture..Mercator ,gentron are the thirdparty tools.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;SAP(R/3) -&amp;gt;Middleware(mercator)-&amp;gt;Legacy system.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;when we send idoc from R/3 to middleware it will convert that to some xml file and send to legacy system.This is called outbound.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;similarly from legacy system data comes as file to middleware which converts it to idoc file by the middleware and then that file can be uploaded to SAP R/3.This is called inbound..&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But for ALE we generally don' use third party tools.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Reward points if u find useful.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Nagaraj&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
