A message type characterises the data sent across systems and relates to the structure of the data called an IDOC type.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Diff. with basic type&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;An basic type specifies the structure of the data. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;A message type specifies the meaning of the data &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Diff. b/w basictype and IDOC&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;A basic type is the definition of a specific data structure.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;nagaraj&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;HI Mithun..&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Basic IDOC type is nothing but the IDOC type like MATMAS03, ORDERS03 etc which are delivered by SAP.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We can also Create Extended IDOC type by Adding new Segments(fields) to Basic IDOC types.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You can find them in WE30.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;reward if Helpful.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
