BDC for file selection

hi,

I want to record the file selection using BDC. but the dialog box which is for the file selection is also getting displayed while running the BDC program. is it possible that i pass a file name to it without the file dialog box.

Hi Aparna,

Is the file selection dialog box coming because you have pressed the F4 on the field?

Please let me know which transaction is this, if it is not a custom made.

if the file selection dialog is a SAP GUI one then you can do that. but if its a windows one , for e.g file open dialog thrown by cl_gui_frontend_services=>file_open method then you cannot write BDC for that.

yes it is through frontend_services->file_open_dialog.

may be that is why i am not able to do that.

there are some people complaining about it.

Are you seeing three radio button under my name in the reply i have posted?

no. the radio buttons are not availale.

So i could not increase your score about your knowledge.

There some other people who are able to award points. for example about 1/2 hr back i got some points in BSP forum.

I dont know why this happens to only some people. i have also noticed this reported from another guy in another thread within ABAP forum

Hi Raja,

I think there is some problem with rewarding points. Even if the post is marked as question, the option for rewarding points is not visible. I too did not receive some points because of this.

I think we should inform this to SDN.
