can u xplain me what is table maintenance generator

Hi,

It is used for updating tables.i.e deleting,updating and inserting data into tables.

Table maintanance Generator is used to manually

input values using transaction sm30

follow below steps

1) go to se11 check table maintanance check box under

attributes tab

2) utilities-table maintanance Generator->

create function group and assign it under

function group input box.

also assign authorization group default &NC& .

select standard recording routine radio in table

table mainitainence generator to move table

contents to quality and production by assigning

it to request.

4) select maintaience type as single step.

5) maintainence screen as system generated numbers

this dialog box appears when you click on create

button

6) save and activate table

Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.

Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

U can create enteries using with sm30.

sm30 is t-code for table maintanence genaratore.

One step, two step in Table Maintenance Generator

the table maintenace generator is used to change the values of the table

use transaction se54 to create one maintenance generator for a table

also use sm30 to display the values of the table

from SE11 , enter the table name and then click on change, then in the menu Utilities->Table maintenance Generator.

give authorization group,Function Group, Sngle screen(radio Button),Mainitenance screen no, and Standard Recording Routine Radio Button ..

and save it.

and then Go to SM30 and check it with the same name.

Hi,

Creating a maintenance generator is nothing but creating a view for maintaining the table, i.e, SAP will automatically create as easy interface for maintaining the table entries.

Using the table view you can add,delete or modify entries to the table manually. SM30 is the transaction for manipulating the table views.

without a view, you cannot alter the table contents manually.

if u check the table maintance option While creating table, after creating table u can able to insert and delete the records directly into the table using<b> SM30</b> transaction..
