regarding value request for a field

hi ,

i have a select option s_massn(action type) in selection screen.

i need to give valu request(f4 key) for that field with some possibles.

so how can i write the code for this situation.

Srinivas,

It depends on the time of field you are using:

1) If your field refers to a dictionary field which has a value table or domain values associated with it , then declaring your selection parameters like this will automatically give you F4 help.

PARAMETERS : p_test type <dict table name>-<field of table>.

2) If you want a separate search help to be associated with the parameter :

PARAMETER : p_test type <required type> MATCHCODE <serach help name>.

In your program you have to define

3) If none of the above satisfy your requirements , define

AT SELECTION SCREEN ON VALUE REQUEST on <field name> event in your program.

Then write the required logic to fetch entries here and display values using FM's from function group 'F4IF' (Search for the FM which suits your requirement).

Hi here is an example check it out.

at selection-screen on value-request for p_uname.

perform f4_p_name.

form f4_p_uname.

call function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'.

exporting

retfield = 'UNAME'

dybprog = sy-repid

dynprofield = 'P_UNAME'

tables

value_tab = i_tab[].

i_tab is the internal table containing all the usernames form th emaster table for the username(here in the given example)
