Transport Table Maintainance

I am currently working on merging two SAP systems. I was wondering what the best way is to transport table maintainance?

hi Elvez,

I did this before and there were problems. The normal solution would be to put the function group of maintenance FM into a transport, but it is better to transport only the table and recreate the maintenance transaction on the new system manually.

Hi Elvez,

When you are transporting the same table maintenance to another system, you should make sure that the same Function Group, Development Class and the Authorization Group exists in the target system too. Then only you can transport without any errors and the table maintenance will work with out any problems in the target system.

Else, you will encounter issues.In this case, just transport the table and create the table maintenance accordingly in the target system with the available Function Group, Development Class and the Authorization Group.

Hi Elvez,

This is very easy..

You will need to transport the function group of the table maintenance in a transport.

There are two ways:

1) You can transport the database table and this function group together and there will be no problem.

2) If you are transporting the function group in a separate transport, make sure that the transport for the database table is already moved.

Hi,

I thought it would be easy too. However, I experienced the same problem as Eric. All objects were in the new system, but the maintainance dialog did not exist. I am not sure whether or not the database was transported before or after the function group. If the function group was transported before would that cause the maintainance dialog not to work?
