    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Guid is abbreviation of Geographically Unique ID. It is a 32 char field available in almost all master and transaction data tables in CRM . It's value identifies that the record is unique and no such record exists anywhere in the CRM system. However please note that Customizing tables do not have a Guid where the key is maintained by short text. I hope this helps&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

They use a GUID in CRM because of its uniqueness and to have a central numbering instance in the server: Esp. because of the mobile sales scenario where data is created in different sites and thus numbering them in order would be very difficult to ascertain they assign GUIDs first and number them then later in the server.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
