Hi all,

I have an addressnumber field included in a Z-table, which has data element ad_addrnum. I also assigned an external key to this field (ADRC-ADDRNUMBER) and a searchhelp (ADDRESS1).

I created a table maintenance object. Like this, SM30 will not let me do anything with the addrnumber field, as an entry in tsadrv was missing. I added that, but now I get a full-blown address editing function which I don't need and don't want. I just want to be able to check that the addressnumber entered by the user exists in ADRC, that's all.

I tried changing the domain of my address number field, but then using a checktable is no longer possible.

So far trying different settings for my address field intry in table TSADRV als did not help.

I am working with an SRM system, on basis release 6.40.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

p.s. this question was posted earlier in the sapfans forum, my apologies to those of you who also read it there.

good point Tim, I hadn't done that. There was a very inconspicuous remark in a help text on that table I saw now. Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem....

Thanks for your interest Tim!

Hi Arjan,

If you want to validate the address field you can write your own code in the PAI.

You can write your own code in the screen of table maintenance generator.

I did lots of validation for table maintenance.

Hope this will help you. If you want sample code, i will send to you.

Thanks

Swagatika

Though I haven't found a direct answer for it, the issue was solved using some tricks:

1. Change the type of the field to NUM10

2. Regenerate maint. dialog -> field should be now visible

3. Reset field type, do not regenerate main. dialog

4. In SM30 use menu Selection-By Contents and the field is still visible.

But your explanations are welcome anyway!
