It would be possible through the methods of the custom container class CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER because the grid id attached to the container.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would like to be able to resize the alv grid.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The abap program is executing in a MS-Windows environment&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;MS-window, with SAP session,  can be re-sized yet alv grid stays same size&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would like to be able to re-size (make bigger or smaller) once the MS-window has been maximized&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Using&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;CALL METHOD grid-&amp;gt;set_table_for_first_display&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;    EXPORTING&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;      is_variant      = w_hr_data_grid_layout_variants&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;      i_save          = w_hr_data_save_layout_option&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;      is_layout       = gs_layout&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;    CHANGING&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;      it_fieldcatalog = gt_fieldcat[]&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;      it_outtab       = t_reported_pos_std_table&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;      it_sort         = it_sort.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
