Expert mode gives 3 options:

1. Delete and recreate - this will delete your profile and recreate it from scratch - meaning any manual changes you made to the auths will be gone and default values will come in.

2. Edit old status - meaning if you had made a change to the menu section - add or delete - it will not take that into account - ie. no default values from tcode change.

3. Read and merge - PG will check all of the tcodes in menu section and add \ remove any default values from changes in the tcodes.

when making "menu" changes, clicking on expert mode you have the option of manually inserting authorizations into the role/activity group rather than having sap automatically insert.

John,

Expect Mode offer three option to update the authorization, pretty self explanatory on each option.

The most useful option will be the last option, Read old status and merge with new data.

When you make some update thru SU24, new field value, new authorization objects, etc. The normal mode might not pick up the changes from table USOBT_C & USOBX_C. The Expect Mode will force the program to pick up all the changes.

Hope this help.

Lye
