when v transfer some data in bdc through a flat file in SAP system ....what is the structure of that flat file..........if there r 5 columns and the data is related to material master .....and the tables v r using is mara and makt ,,,and the corresponding fileds r matnr,meins,makt,maktl,and so on. pls lemme know

structure of that flat file should br the same as it is being by read bby the recording with proper space delimiter.

U need to give the flat file with all the key fields.

yes structure should be same as what you up load normally

while uploading all the data type should be char type

if for example you declare a field as matnr will have 18 chars but if you have to upload other than char type field first upload as char and convert it to the required type. i hope this helps

Hi Guru,

Flat file should contains proper data and fields which u mentioned in file those should be same length with data base table field length.

Hi Guru,

Please see the below example.

If you are declaring the internal table of foolowing type.

Your Input presentation server file must also be in the same format.

data: begin of tbl_lips occurs 0,

vbeln like lips-vbeln,

posnr like lips-posnr,

pstyv like lips-pstyv,

matnr like lips-matnr,

LFIMG LIKE LIPS-LFIMG,

arktx like lips-arktx,

end of tbl_lips.

file:

1234 00010 zecm ecm1 matetrail

1235 00020 zecc ecm2 matet12l

i file contains continous data then we need to read data into 1 internal table and then needs to break up as per the client guidelines as from Char 0 to 3 is sales order and so on....
