Extending Check table restriction

Hello Friends,

I had a requirement of extending a check table retriction as

I had a created a ztable and it has a field for shipping point.

Now the requirement is that user should be able to enter all shipping point maintained in system in table TVSB as well a value '*' also in it.

Means user can enter a correct shipping point as well as '*' value also, if any other values than these, than it should give an error message.

If i use the check table for my field shipping point as TVSB then it will check for all correct values only and for '' value it will give the error message which I dont want. I want that it should accept '' value also in addition to TVSB check table values.

Please guide me how to do so.

If i understood your question right,you can creare row in TVSB with '*',and then refer to this table in your ztable as foreign key,which will bring only correct values.

If you want to check this values in the program and not only on selection screen or in your table,you can just check TVSB for wanted value ( as i tested,program accepts '*' when i entered it into TVSB and i don't get error message).

Hi Nazir,

You have to change the program created through table maintainance generator of this table. on entry screen of this program (actually function-pool), use event PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST

FIELD ZTABLE-ZFIELD MODULE ZF4_VALUE.

in this module use FM F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST; select from TVSB and pass to this FM. after getting return table just concate '*' with this return value.

it will work fine.
