BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE

Hi ,

When I am trying to update the sold- to address . I am getting the following error

Field header_inx-updateflag is not an input field

Please let me know what fields need to be populated in the BAPI to change the address.

Hi,

You can not change the sold-to party in a sales document.

If you are trying to change only the sold-to address, then change the customer address using XD02.

1. Go to XD02 (Changes to Customer Master)

2. Give the sold-to party no as a customer no along with the sales organization, distribution channel and division.

3. Change the address & click on SAVE.

Changes to the address done in the customer master will reflect in sales order automatically.

There is a BAPI 'BAPI_CUSTOMER_EDIT' which when supplied with the customer no, calls transaction XD02 to change the customer master.

Thanks for the info . I was not aware that we would not be able to update the sold-to address in a sales document .

The problem here is here that in XD02 how do i know if it is sold-to - address or ship -to address. The reason being that my partner for both sold-to and ship-to is

MISC not a number .

Please advise.

Hey,

You can not change a sold -to party no, u can change the sold-to party address. But, to change the address, you have to change respective customer master, which in turn will change the sold-to party address in your sales document.

Hi,

It does not matter whether it is a sold-to party or ship-to party, after all it is a customer no/id. Same customer can play a role of sold-to, ship-to, bill-to etc. in different documents. These are just partner functions which define roles & responsibilities that a customer will play in a sales transaction. Now, for e.g. a customer ABC can be a sold-to party for one sales document & ship-to for other, so don't worry about that. <b>Only problem here is that, once you change the address of that customer, the same address will be used everywhere.</b>

Settings at your end for customer no might be external number assignment i.e. the person who is creating a customer record can assign an unique Id/No, hence you have a customer no/id as MISC. If you have internal number assignment configured, then SAP will automatically generate a no for each customer. Don't worry about it, follow steps given in my first reply to change the address.
