Hi,

I understand the new SAP EEC6 will be using Java based together with ABAP.

I was reading thru the SAP library on the authorization for AS Java.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/a6/9d86f7b9d0224fbf74f9024b0b0a6a/frameset.htm

I was not so clear on it, i understand authorisation in SAP is based on authorization object, and for SAP HR is based on normal authorization (PFCG) and can be also based on the structural authorisation.

Im not so sure where and what this AS Java authorization & EMU (User management engine) is, and how does it come into managing authorization checks.

I understand for ESS module, the authorization check would still be using the normal one as it is?

Please kindly advise on this anyone?

Cheers

Hi,

UME is web base interface to manage all user's centrally. You can configure any data souce (DB / LDAP / ABAP) with UME to manage user and authorization data. Here you can create roles / groups and assign to user's. The ABAP roles will be displayed as groups in UME side. You can't modify those data.

Refer the link below for more infor on UME.

UME

Regards

R.Murali
