Text Area In a DD Document

Hi,

I wanted to have a text area in a DD Document,which can hold more data that a input element about 100 lines,

The reason that I wanted a textearea is that, I have made a html page with textarea and Javascript which have got more formating options,which could give me a html code in to a variable after I push the submit button.

If u could please help me in finding the ways to retrive the Data from that Text Area.

do you want to retreive the text in the text area into a javascript variable or ABAP variable?

javascript variable:

var textvariable = document.getElementById("id of the text area").innerText;

ABAP variable:

I do not know of a way (this can be easily handed in a BSP application).

but the text is passed from the ABAP program and you already have the value. If the user can add text , then getting the user entered value... you could try DEMO_JAVA_SCRIPT* program to see whether they can help.

In my opinion the best way would be to create a BSP application and use it inside a HTML control within SAP GUI.

Thank for ur reply,

But I have the entire application completed in R/3,

I have used the text control for that,

It was a typical forum like application that require a rich text editor to present the user text.

I have tried out sap script editor But not satisfied with the formatting options that it had.

So wanted to have a thing which would give me more formatting options and where I can use colours,

So I prepared a application in html with javascript which would give me html text after submitting.

If u have any other ideas of doing it in DD documents u are most welcome and which would also work on 4.6c.

why not try CL_GUI_BTFEDITOR - its a rich text editor for SAPGUI
