Hi all,

i want to know about transport request create request and change request in detail? how one will use them in real time?

When you are Creating a object in ABAP say table or program, it asks for a development class or package when you Save it

So enter the Dev class then it creates a request

this request is useful when you wants this object has to be transported from DEV client to PRD or QAS systems

then you release this request from SE09 (firt release the task and then requests) and transport it using the STMS taking the help of a BASIS person.

SE01 is the main screen of the Change and transport Organizer. From here the administrator can acheive all tasks related to transport requests - such as create, change, view logs, display client/delivery transports, etc. SE09 and SE10 can also be accessed from here. However, not all developers might be granted access to this transaction.

SE09 is the workbench transport requests transaction - here the developers can track changes to all ABAP workbench objects (dictionary, reports, module pools, etc). This is a developer-specific transaction and mostly all developers have access to this transaction.

SE10 is the customizing request display transaction - this displays all the customizing requests in the system. Again, this could be restricted to Business analysts if required, since they would be doing most of the customizing changes in the system.

Hi,

The Change Request is that request when you do changes or create a program or configuration in the system. The system will automatically popu with the change request pop box , when you can give request name as defined by the system or can give your own request name with heading of what changes you have made while customization. The system will generate a request number and you save it. (e.g.:- SEDE-2785467) SEDE- means the Clients System name then followed by the system generated request number.

Now when you want to release the request you have to use the T-code SE10 where you can see the requests under the heading modifiable or released. Go to the modifiable option. Each request will have again an internal request number. First you have to release the internal request and then release the external request number. This will in turn released by the basis guys thru the T-code SM64 in a group when all the requests are pooled from different users.

The task is nothing but the what task you have performed while customizing the client system and the heading name which have given it for that task and generated a request for that task.

regarding your last question, change request is usually created by the developers or team leader. But the transporting is mostly done by basis.

If you have access to an SAP system, use Tcodes SE01,SE09&SE10 Transactions to answer your questions..The transport process is the responsibility of the BASIS team..

HI,

1. If the program is already created and you want to put that program into a TR

Then Open the program in change mode. Click GOTO->Object Directory Entry. Here the Development Class should be entered. Change the class from $TMP to your development class. Then Click on Save. It will prompt for the Name of the TR. Give a name and specify the Project.

2. If the program is to be created,

Then while created the program, it would ask for development Class , then enter the development class and click on SAVE. Then it would ask for the TR Name and project. Enter the same.

when u create a program or table it asks for the package and request..if u give the name the request is created...

use tcode se01 or se09 and enter ur request..from there u can transport ur request..
