RTF Specifications for Arial Font

Hi all,

I am trying to upload Arial font using SE73. I want to know what should i prvoide in RTF Text. I need to give RTF Specifications for Arial font. I got the RTF Specifications for TIMES.

For the SAPscript font TIMES this information is:

\froman\fcharset &&& Times New Roman

I could not find this information on microsoft site.

What is Need of RTF Text while uploading font using SE73. I am on 4.7 and Trying to install Arial True Type font.

Hi Vipin,

Have you tried installing it using program RSTXSF01. All you need is the arial.ttf file that can be found in the fonts folder in Windows and SAP will do the rest for you.

Tried it again. It does require the RTF information. Will keep looking. Sorry about that

Hi,

After clicking on True Type font Installieren you SE73 you will get same selection Screen as you will get in RSTXSF01. So Both are same

Use

\fswiss\fcharset&&& Arial

look a documentation for RTF information on the field...

Corresponding RTF form for a font family in SAPscript

Enter the control sequence that identifies the font in the Rich Text Format RTF).

The SAPscript text editor and the graphical print preview use this information to correctly display the characters.

Example The font information consists of:

\f<name of font family>\fcharset<WinCharSet Number>\f

For the SAPscript font TIMES this information is:

\froman\fcharset &&& Times New Roman\

COMMENTS: create the font for all combinations of Bold and Italics (checkboxes on the selection screen, while uploading the TTF) for the font to be usable

also discovered that the HELVE font in SAP is actually ARIAL going by the RTF information for the font family

I have uploaded Arial Font using SE73. I have selected check box in selection screen for bold and Italic. I took file from C:\Windows\Font\Arial.ttf.

I gave RTF Text as \fswiss\fcharset&&& Arial.

In SapScript layout, i am not getting BOLD and ITALIC version of Arial, I can only see normal Arial font.

When I went to c:\windows\font Directory, I saw a separate ttf file for Bold and italic. So Should I again upload using these files, but at one time I can give one file name. Or should I create a separate font Zarial1 for bold and Zarail2 for italic.

Vipin,

Yes you have to upload them individually with the appropriate checkboxes on the selection screen for the TTF upload as below (Use ZARIAL only for all uploads, you will get a dialog box to confirm the overwrite, continue with a "Yes"). SAPScript cannot use it until all 4 are available (Tried it yesterday).

Eventually if you look under System Fonts and Printer Fonts you will see 1 entrie for each bold/italics combination (4 in total for every font size/family)

Now additionally you must generate these fonts for the printers you plan to use them on under Printer Fonts. You can identify them as they will be highlighted in Yellow.

Hi Vipin,

i do have a requirement of uploading Arial font. Pls write back the procedure to upload the same. i used the tcode se73 and created the font family but how do i give the path for the .ttf file to get uploaded into SAP. Pls reply back
