Hi Experts,

My objective is to change the short text of data element

when i try to change it, it gives me two options:

1. Maintain in orignal lang (DE)

2. Maintain in longon lang (EN)

I clicked the 1. option, changed the short text, saved it, activated it.

But again when i am displaying it, its coming back to the old short text.

Do i need to perform some kind of traslation.

Any helpful entry will be rewarded.

See the Transaction SE63 for texts transalation

And the Language to which you wants to change these texts should be made as active by basis people

Hi,

Go to SE63 T.code

Go to transaction SMLT , there you can see all the languages which were imported. Expand that and see the logs and make sure that you have imported correctly

Hi Anji,

when i go to se63, i select data element (enter my data element).

Select source language as German and target language as English. Click on edit and i get this:

Short text

Customs invoice required

ID for product attribute 4

the top one (Customs invoice required) was in German ealrier which i changed and the bottom one is in English. Now i want to replace "ID for product attribute 4" with "Customs invoice required". How can i achieve it.

Hi raman,

1. Choose option 2

Maintain in longon lang (EN)

2. Since u are logged on in EN Language,

the description for EN will be displayed normally.

I also thought that i did a mistake and should have choosen the second option. But now, what can i do. I am not getting that option again.

Hi Raman,

in development system, enter $SYNC in the command line (where you enter transaction codes). Then your changes get visible. Note: The system/database keeps frequently used data like short text of data element in buffers. $SYNC resets all buffers.

If your requirement includes the translation: After changing short text (with activating data element), in Dictionary, use menu Goto->Translation.
