Hi,

can someone explain or give an example

How to get the description into the selected option screen when choosing the drop down button, I want to have the description for the code presented beside

the code for example

003 <description> and description will not presented as input, just for info after the user have hit enter.

What field are you working with. The drop down boxes, or F4 help, is generated from search helps in the ABAP dictionary. These are standard search helps. Let us know which field you are working with in your select-options....example,

Select-options: s_field for <WHAT IS THIS FIELD>.

You can check out the standard search help and maybe develop a customized Z version.

Here is the code sample:

selection-screen begin of line.
selection-screen comment 1(21) text-002.
parameters: p_gname like setheadert-SETNAME.
selection-screen comment 39(30) scr_cmt.
selection-screen end   of line.

at selection-screen output .

if not p_gname is initial .
select single DESCRIPT from setheadert into scr_cmt where XXX= XXX and
ssetname = p_gname .
endif .

Change the line:

selection-screen comment 39(30) scr_cmt.

selection-screen comment 47(30) scr_cmt.

or some number bigger than 47. If smaller, you are trying to place the comment overlapping the input area. I tried this and your code worked for me.

Does this meet your needs?
