Hi Narayana,

maintainence and support is nothing but one kind of SAP projects.

Here in support you resolve any issues coming in Live system(Production) and support the same and maintenance is nothing but the creation of new programs or maintaining the old one according to changing business needs.

it depedn on comapny to company some are lotus notes,remedy...here we get the tickets n we chose the ticket n assing in our name nstart the work mostly it will be some modification in some codes or stuffslike that.. u wil get the requirenment form the tool itself it wil display how many developers has alrady has open tht ticket or worked on that ...so that u wil get an idea abt the current status...
