Alternative for SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1

Hi,

does anyone no an alternative FM for 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1', which are unicode compliant. FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 gives a short dump in 4.7, because it's not unicode checked.

SO_OBJECT_SEND is also the function called by

SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1, but does this work for sending attachments?

Using call function "SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1" in specific program in SAP R/3, i would like to know if it is possible to send a mail on Outlook webmail box in 4.0B Version of SAP?

Hi,

A different approach could be via the cl_bcs classes.

An example can be found at BSP app BSPTUTORIALMAIL and the application class, CL_BSP_TUT_MAIL.

But you don't need to write a BSP for this. It's available for plain ABAP within 4.7 too.

I don't really understand what you tell me, about BSP. My problem is just to know if SAP R/3 version 4.0B bear the process of sending mail from ABAP program. And, if of course, which actions have to put up in SAP to allow sending?

Yes SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 works in 4.0B. You posted the same question in the weblog comments of the weblog that shows you the example.

Another example of The BCS Classes for sending email can be found here.

It is a nice OO approach to sending Email and can be used from any type of ABAP program(WebAS version 6.10 and higher). I have used it in a Unicode system and as long as you have your setup correct in SCOT (the code page setting in the General Node Data Configuration screen) it works fine.
