Extending idoc

Hi All,

I want to extend a segment in the idoc and add the data to the extended segment thorugh a user exit.

In the user exit the logic would be: parent seg - child seg - field = 'value'.

That means the parent segment becomes a deep structure. But even after extending, when i c the structure in DDIC, the child segment is not appended.

Also i am not able to append strucure in DDIC itself as the segment is released and does not give me change authority.

use WE30 to extend the Idoc Type

Though you released the segment if you wants to change it

from the menu YOU CAN UNDO RELEASE and make the changes to the segment and then again you have to release after doing changes.
