Can any one help me out whats the approach that should be followed to modify STANDARD SCRIPT and also regarding the DRIVER PROGRAM. Kindly help me out in this view briefly.

My suggestion would be to copy the original SAPsript into a Z version as well as the driver program. Do configuration for the output types to point to the Z version of the form and the program

thanx once again but my view is what about the driver program?there are many includes in that and there will be no chance of modifying the includes.kindly explain it in brief.

In that, case you would copy the include programs as well and do modifications to the Z version of the include. In the driver program, you would comment out the INCLUDE F010101 and INCLUDE the ZF010101.

Example.



*INCLUDE F010101.
INCLUDE ZF010101.

Since there is no version management for SAPScript forms, copying the form to a Z version is the best solution for the SAPScript.

However...

There are two schools of thought on the print driver. As Rich has suggested, the SAP preferred method is also to copy and change the program. But if you do that and SAP releases a new version during an upgrade, you won't get the new version. You'll have the old one and likely won't even know it unless, it fails to compile due to changes in include files or other changes. If you repair the SAP version, at upgrade time any changes will be noted by transaction SPAU. You'll have an opportunity to include your custom changes in the upgraded version.
