Not able to read file from application server

Hi,

I have written a file to the tmp directory on the application server, with the .dat extension.

I am however unable to read the file. I get a message, "Unable to display this file". The "useable file" flag is not set which is probably the reason behind the file not opening.

I dont know how this flag is set, and how the file can be read.

If anyone knows, please reply.

I guess there are no relevant authorizations to read the file from the application server for your ID talk to basis guy in this reagard.

Hi Santosh,

I checked transaction SU53, and there is no authorization object assigned against my id. No restrictions have been mentioned.

I am able to write a file to the application server and delete it as well, but I am not able to read the file.

If it is an authorization issue, it should also be applicable for writing and deletion of the file.

If you have authorisation you can manually verify if the file is actually present in the application server in the directory you specified.

T.code to do that is AL11
