eCATT -External file

Hi All,

I want to get the data from the external excel file or notepad file.

What should be the format of the excel file.should it be like the test script or test data.

From where can i get upload this excel or notepad file?Is it from Test data or from Test configuration?

Kindly provide the solution with some example and also with the related blogs.

Hello Siva,

Please check in test data container whether you have the option for loading the test data from the external file. If u have thins option you cal load the test data into the test data container as variants.

But if its not there,

Then you need to write a ABAP logic in eCATT script to read the Excel sheet. My suggestion better you convert the Excel sheet into CSV (text) file then you can upload the test data easily as already some blogs avilable on it. Please go tru the following link below,

try to develop some prototype from the above code,

if u thinks its working fine then copy the same code in eCATT script and place in between ABAP...ENDABAP command.
